Catherine B. Parker

Catherine Brown Parker

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Brown Parker, who left this world on November 30, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on March 28, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia. Catherine lived her entire life in the warmth of the community she adored.

Catherine was the beloved daughter of Jack Lawton Brown and Jessie Drew Brown, both of whom preceded her in death. She carried their legacy of love, kindness, and resilience throughout her life, embodying the values they instilled in her. Catherine was not just a daughter; she was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a beloved sister, and a treasured friend.

For 52 wonderful years, she was married to her loving husband, Carlton McKenzie Paker, Jr. Together, they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering support for each other. Catherine’s love for her family was boundless, and she raised three remarkable children, Jennifer Parker Jerome (Bob), Carlton McKenzie Parker, III (Christy), and Sarah Rebecca Morris (Randy). Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and wisdom in their hearts.

Catherine’s legacy continues through her eight adoring grandchildren: Abigaile Drew, Rebecca Snipes, Damian Drew, Carlton Paker, IV, Trevor Parker, Kenneth Parker, and Callie Parker, Hailey Jerome, as well as her cherished great-grandson, Francis Snipes, Jr.

Her Laughter and love will echo in her memories of her loved ones for generations to come.

Catherine was a twin sister to Jackie Humes (Sam), and shared a deep bond with her brother, Keith   Brown (Sandra), and her baby sister, Jo-Anne Salter (Scott).  The love and support they provided each other throughout their lives were a testament to the strength of their family ties.

Known for her resilience. She was always there when her family needed her most, offering support, wisdom, and abundant love. Her laughter was infectious, and her warmth touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Catherine was a friend to many, cherished dearly for her kindness, strength, and unwavering spirit.

A Graveside Service to honor Catherine’s life will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. As we gather to celebrate her incredible journey, we invite all who knew her to share in the stories, laughter, and love that she gave so freely.

Catherine Brown Parker leaves behind a legacy of compassion and strength that will continue to inspire those she loved. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Catherine; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Melissa Cline for the love, care, and kindness shown to Cathie and her family during this time.
